Pulsar Legend Killer: Bajaj takes a dig at new Hero Karizma with Pulsar ‘Legend Killer’ post

Bajaj Auto has taken a swipe at Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming motorcycle, the Karizma XMR, as it dubbed its Pulsar range of motorcycles the “legend killer” in a social media story shared on its Instagram handle.
The slight dig aimed at rival Hero MotoCorp comes just days after the latter announced that the iconic entry-level sports motorcycle in a fresh, updated avatar christened at the ‘Karizma XMR’. The refreshed Karizma will be launched on August 29.
Hero has already teased the motorcycle multiple times, revealing key features such as an engine with larger displacement at 210cc, a DOHC engine likely to deliver enhanced top-end performance, and more.
The new Karizma features a fresh design, a more powerful engine, and a host of new features. However, it remains to be seen whether the motorcycle will be able to revive the Karizma brand, which was discontinued in 2020 due to dwindling sales in the country.

On the other hand, the latest Instagram story, which has now disappeared, is likely to heat up the competition in the Indian motorcycle market. Upon arrival, the Karizma XMR will rival the likes of Pulsar RS 200 and Pulsar NS200 from the Pulsar range.
Hero recently shared a cryptic post on its X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, which indicated that the new Karizma will likely be launched at a starting price of Rs 2.05 lakh, ex-showroom.
It isn’t the first time in recent time that Bajaj has taken a jibe at their arch rivals as Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto had a quirky remark aimed at the Hero-Harley co-developed X440 motorcycle.
Speaking on the launch of the Triumph Speed 400 (developed in partnership with Bajaj), Bajaj said that the fit and finish of their product was thought to be “good” until when he realised that it was “great” after what he had seen a couple of day ago (at the launch of Harley-Davidson X440).
