For 60 years, art has been an integral part of Rabanne’s mission to drive a more visionary, creative, and inclusive future. To embody and evolve this commitment, Rabanne has launched an ambitious global program,
The Rabanne Arts Factory’, dedicated to amplifying the next generation of underrepresented digital image creators through the unique lens of their art.

Following a call for submissions in January 2024, supported by Dazed, participants were invited to “visualize new realities.” To give this award the visibility it deserves, Rabanne has forged an unprecedented partnership with Art Basel, the world’s most renowned contemporary art fair, to celebrate the talent of these young artists and offer them a globally recognized platform. This collaboration sits at the intersection of art and design, allowing unique creations to emerge in an era where the hybridization of disciplines is increasingly common.

To select the best projects, The Rabanne Arts Factory has assembled a jury of international experts from the worlds of fashion and art, chaired by Julien Dossena, the artistic director of the house, alongside Jefferson Hack, founder of Dazed Media; Venus Lau, curator and writer; and Claude Adjil, curator. Bridget Finn, director of Art Basel Miami Beach, will also participate as a mentor.

The jury has just announced the six finalists, selected from three renowned art schools (Central Saint Martins in London, Ecole Duperré in Paris, and Istituto Marangoni in Florence), as well as from the Dazed club and community: Buse Simon, United Kingdom; Alice Bucknell, United States; Elizabeth O’Brien, United Kingdom; Lorenzo Risani, Italy; Lucy Ellis, United Kingdom; and Lola Moniz, France.

To mark this selection, the jury of The Rabanne Arts Factory convened on June 12 at Art Basel for a roundtable discussion titled ‘The Rabanne Arts Factory: Opening Spaces for New Imagery’, moderated by Clément Delépine, director of Art Basel Paris. During this debate, led by Julien Dossena and Jefferson Hack, the jury discussed the significance of this new generation of digital artists and the mission of The Rabanne Arts Factory to support their artistic development.

The final winner, to be announced in the fall, will receive support at various stages of their creative career through a comprehensive approach that includes mentorship with Rabanne executives, visibility, image creation, and financial support for their work. They will also have the opportunity to exhibit their work at Art Basel Miami Beach (December 6-8).

“Art has always been at the heart of Rabanne’s DNA. This project builds on that legacy by celebrating and empowering a new way of creating images in the digital space. In doing so, it will pay homage to the brand’s heritage and reinvent it,” said Vincent Thilloy, CBO of Rabanne.
