After a weekend of sunshine and clear blue skies, cold weather and rain are set to hit the Bay Area again later this week.
The South Bay will see light rain starting on Monday, accumulating to around a tenth of an inch, with the East Bay seeing clouds and cooler temperatures, said Dylan Flynn, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
By Tuesday, a cold system coming from the Gulf of Alaska will bring chilly morning temperatures in the mid-30s, warming up to the low 60s during the day.
“It will be cloudy and cooler for everybody,” Flynn said.
Rain is expected to begin in the second half of the week, lasting Thursday through Sunday, Flynn said.
Don’t expect anything as strong as last week’s storms, though, he said — the total accumulation is expected to be no more than 2 inches. The wet weather will be accompanied by moderate winds.

That same system is expected to bring snow in the mountains. Donner Pass could see 3 to 6 inches by Tuesday, while South Lake Tahoe will get less than an inch.
