Raj Kundra was arrested in 2021 and he’s not made a film based on his experience in Jail during that whole episode. The film is titled UT 69 and since the time of his arrest, Raj has constantly been facing trolling. He’s been called with names like ‘porn king’ and largely, he’s also recognised by most people as Shilpa Shetty’s husband. In a recent interview, Raj has expressed that these tags do hurt him.
Kundra said during a chat with Pinkvilla that he would be lying if he said this doesn’t hurt him.But he recently saw a Karan Johar interview where he opened up on he he handles trolling and Raj has started following that. But he’s so used to all the trolling now because people are writing the same thing to him since the last 2 years.
He further added, that they know no better and this is the claim to fame for trolls. Raj further shared the advice which Shilpa gave him. She said to him, ‘Don’t complain, don’t explain. Just go ahead. You know who you are and what you are. Forget these people.’
The businessman-turned-actor, further added that one has to be thick-skinned within the industry, wear blinkers and go ahead with everything. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Raj opened up on why he made this film. He said, “I needed closure somewhere, there was something inside me that was bugging me. I wanted the world to see what I went through. Somewhere, I want people to see that there are lives which don’t require to go through what they went through. The film is a story of emotions, bonding, the conditions they (inmates) lived in, the food they had etc. I was thinking of turning my notes into a memoir, which is when Shahnawaz Ali ( director) told me not to. He mentioned that it has legs to stand on, we can make a movie on it. I found the idea interesting and planned to act on it.”
