New Delhi: Those who use Delhi Metro to commute can now recharge their Delhi Metro cards directly by using WhatsApp, the Meta-owned online messaging platform.
The new feature offers a straightforward method for commuters to recharge their Metro cards. Available to travelers throughout Delhi and the NCR region, it is facilitated by PeLocal and enables recharges on all Delhi Metro lines, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro. Payment options include UPI, debit cards, credit cards, among others.

“Introducing metro pass recharge via WhatsApp will revolutionize the commuting experience for everyday commuters who use the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC),” said Ravi Garg, Director of Business Messaging at Meta India.
“Offering various payment methods to recharge the card, this integration builds on the success of our previously introduced QR ticketing systems bringing us one step closer to our goal of simplifying transit for millions of people across the NCR region,” he added.
Step By Step Guide To Recharge Your Delhi Metro Card Using WhatsApp
- Send “Hi” to +91 96508 55800 or scan the provided QR code
- Select your preferred language: Hindi or English
- Tap on “Smart Card TopUp”
- Click “Click here” to be directed to the DMRC Ticket Booking form
- Enter your Smart Card number and the recharge amount
- Complete the payment using UPI or your chosen payment method
Minimum Recharge Amount For Delhi Metro Card Via WhatsApp
The minimum recharge value is Rs 100, with a fee of 0.40% for debit card transactions and 1.10% for credit card transactions. Payments made through UPI incur no charges. Besides recharging Metro cards, commuters can also use this service to buy tokens and obtain information about train schedules, fares, and station details.
