Regular dance nights to return to Glasgow’s Arches after successful pilot of New World

Following a successful pilot last year, Glasgow’s iconic Arches club is set to welcome back revellers for more regular dance club nights.

New World, which was originally launched by the Watchtower Group last December, is returning with twelve large-scale events at Midland Street and will be headlined by some of the globe’s most exciting DJs.

Formerly the iconic space known as the Arches, the building under Glasgow Central reopened as Platform food market in February 2018, offering customers a variety of dishes from a number of Glasgow eateries.

However, the group behind FLY Open Air Festival, Watchtower Group, launched a series of events at the space titled New World last December – complete with a 2am licence.

Also featuring in the iconic red brick archways will be Céleste, Sasha & Digweed, Interplanetary Criminal, MALUGI, Girls Don’t Sync, PRTY crew, FRANCK and Funk Tribu.

A spokesperson for New World said: “The success of last year’s shows proved there is a deep cultural need for fresh large-scale events in Glasgow.

“We’re committed to providing a platform for new and exciting talent, ensuring that Glasgow remains at the forefront of the global dance scene.”

Speaking about the launch of New World, Season 2, Céleste said: “We’re excited to be part of this season’s New World series, both as DJs and promoters. We’re bringing two electrifying shows to the stage, featuring incredible talent like Funk Tribu and FRANCK, and we can’t wait for Glasgow to experience it!”
