Selfridges is deepening its circularity commitment with the Reselfridges concept for accessories now available across all of its UK stores (London, Birmingham, and two in Manchester).
The concept has been available in the London flagship for some time but its space there has now been expanded and covers 1,000 sq ft, three times its previous floorspace.
Selfridges has made circularity a cornerstone of its business strategy in recent years and developments such as this show that it’s doing much more than paying lip service to the idea.
The retailer’s secondhand and circular concept will now offer a curated selection of pre-owned accessories and rare archive items across the UK and in London will also include repair, resale and customisation.
Partnerships with external specialists will be key. The company is continuing to work with Byronesque and on a monthly basis will present a landmark item, kicking off with the AW96 Alexander McQueen Dante Mask.
And another long-term partner OOTO (Out of the Ordinary) will present vintage accessories from big-name designer labels, as well as luxury jewellery.
There will be more to come too with an even bigger Reselfridges fashion destination on the third floor featuring repair by Sojo, plus rental powered by Hurr, Vintage Threads, and We Are Cow. And The Handbag Clinic has graduated from an earlier pop-up to a permanent concession.
