Robert Irwin’s girlfriend Rorie Buckey has announced some special news, revealing that she is joining the Irwin clan.
The 19-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share that she would be joining Australia Zoo, even changing her bio to describe herself as a “Wildlife Warrior”.
“I am honoured to be part of groundbreaking research on crocodiles in remote North Queensland,” she wrote, sharing a photograph of herself taking notes and wearing the Australia Zoo shirt and cap.

“Working with the University of Queensland and Australia Zoo is profoundly rewarding and I am so grateful to be alongside such inspiring individuals.
“This data is helping to conserve a keystone species and the habitat that supports them!”
Buckey is originally from Perth and was studying a Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy at Curtin University.
But it appears she will now be relocating to Queensland to work alongside Robert and the rest of the Irwin family.
“Yeah Rorie!!!! 🙌” Robert Irwin posted beneath the announcement.
Fans went wild over the exciting news.
“I am so proud of you! I have watched Robert since he was a little boy and I bet he would be so incredibly proud of you,” one follower wrote.
“Perfect fit for the Irwin fam! Happy for you both,” wrote another.
“Great to see you and Robert working together,” observed a third.
Another joked that the move to Australia Zoo might mean “engagement incoming”.
“Engagement incoming in T-minus 3…2…1…” they wrote.
“A true Irwin already!” said another.

Buckey has won the hearts of the Irwin clan, with Irwin’s mum Terri and sister Bindi regularly dropping adoring comments beneath Instagram posts of the couple together.
“Love you both so much,” Bindi wrote beneath one sweet selfie of Irwin and Rorie.
Beneath photos of other moments together, Terri wrote: “Wonderful life adventures.”
Before announcing that she was joining the Australia Zoo team, it was clear Buckey was already spending a lot of time in Queensland.
It’s understood she has completed the Wildlife Warriors program, which was established by Steve and Terri Irwin in 2002.
The company runs a crocodile research program that Robert Irwin and Buckey reportedly completed together.
