Shivam Dube to Feature as an all-rounder
India skipper Rohit Sharma hinted that Shivam Dube will bowl some overs in the T20 World Cup as he knows how to bowl.
“Shivam Dube not bowl any overs in this IPL but he bowls a lot of overs in domestic Cricket. He knows how to bowl. He will bowl some overs in T20 World Cup for sure”: Rohit on Dube’s bowling.
Ajit Agarkar Backed Hardik Pandya’s Inclusion in Squad
BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar backed Hardik Pandya saying that there is no replacement for the all-rounder.
“there is no replacement for what he can do” when the flamboyant all-rounder is fit besides lending balance to the side.
Ajit Agarkar Revealed Why Rishabh Pant And Sanju Samson considered over KL Rahul.
Agarkar revealed that the managemenet is looking for a middle order wicketkeeper batter and KL Rahul is currently playing as an opener.
“Rahul has been batting at the top order, we were looking for middle order WK – we feel Sanju has the ability to bat down the order. It is about the slots we needed to fill, that is the thinking behind backing Pant & Samson.”
Rohit Sharma opens up on leaving off spinners
“We discussed the option of adding an off-spinner. Unfortunately Washi hasn’t played much cricket. It was between Asha and Axar. We thought having 2 left-arm spinners, and Axar has been in good from since the 50-over world cup, he has been bowling well, has done well for India. He is also a very experienced player,” Rohit on not picking an off-spinner.
