New Delhi: At a time when most cricketers are busy spending time with families, India captain Rohit Sharma is gearing up for the Test series against Bangladesh under the supervision of Team India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Following, India’s T20 World Cup win in Jun, all the top names were seen in action against Sri Lanka at the start of the month. With a hectic Test schedule in the next few months, Rohit spared no time in keeping himself fit for the gruelling season ahead.

In a video going viral on the internet, Rohit can be seen doing cardio drills and exercises in a park in Mumbai under the supervision of Nayar. They were heavily guarded by security. Nayar, who was once Rohit’s teammate in the Mumbai state team, is now a part of the Indian backroom staff.

Meanwhile, Rohit was last seen playing in the Test series at home against England in March. With the World Test Championship final approaching next year, India will be playing 10 Tests in the remaining months in 2024. India, who have lost in the last two WTC finals in 2021 and 2023, are sitting atop the standings in the current table.

Under Rohit’s guidance, India reclaimed the T20 World Cup title after 17 years in Barbados in June beating South Africa in the final. India’s first T20 World Cup title came in 2007 under MS Dhoni. There were also questions on Rohit’s India captaincy after he quit the shortest format following the T20 World Cup title. However, quashing all rumours, Rohit was confirmed to lead India in the WTC final and the ICC Champions Trophy next year.
