Saint Laurent revisits the famous Borsalino felt hat

Following in the footsteps of Elie Saab, Chloé and Ami Paris, Borsalino has joined forces with Saint Laurent, another renowned luxury brand. At the end of the year, Saint Laurent will be offering its customers a new exclusive collaboration in its Saint Laurent Rive Droite concept store.

The iconic hat by Anthony Vaccarello – Borsalino x Saint Laurent

The multidisciplinary creative and cultural concept store launched in 2019 by Anthony Vaccarello, based in Paris and in Los Angeles, has been working on selected collaborations from the outset.

After reinterpreting the Schott jacket, the New Era cap and the K-Way windbreaker, among others, the creative director of the Kering Group company is now tackling the mythical Fedora wool felt hat, loved by politicians and celebrities such as François Mitterrand and Ernest Hemingway, and above all by showbiz and film stars, from Frank Sinatra to Humphrey Bogart, Marcello Mastroianni and Robert De Niro.

The Belgian designer, who has been at the helm of Saint Laurent’s collections since 2015, has revisited the classic Federico model, made from lined felt and embellished with a tone-on-tone grosgrain ribbon, which takes its name from the Italian director Federico Fellini, a great fan of the Borsalino. It comes in two colours, black and blueberry.

The hat’s ribbon features the YSL monogram and Borsalino’s 1907 signature logo. The Borsalino x Saint Laurent collaboration is also indicated on the inside of this iconic Borsalino, with its hollowed-out cap and soft dimples.

The exclusive hat, which retails for €475, is available exclusively at Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles and on the Parisian brand’s e-shop.
