Over the first nine months of its 2023 financial year, the French cosmetics group Bogart, whose portfolio includes the April perfume chain, the Carven and Jacques Bogart own-labels and licensed beauty brands, recorded sales of 203.1 million euros, up 2.4% (+7.2% on a like-for-like basis).
Third-quarter sales came to €65.5 million, down 2.8% (+5.7% on a like-for-like basis).
Following a reorganisation plan which led to the closure of 9 shops in Belgium and 17 shops in France, the Group confirmed its sales growth and profitability targets for the full year.
In detail, over the first nine months, sales of Bogart’s fragrance and cosmetics department, which includes the Carven and Jacques Bogart brands, totalled €39.2 million, up 5.7% (+11.9% on a like-for-like basis). Bogart Beauty Retail, which includes the April selective perfumery chain, totalled €163.9 million, up 1.6% (+6.1% on a like-for-like basis).
The Bogart Group is also keeping a close eye on the situation in Israel. The Group has 44 April shops in the country, which accounted for 14% of its business in 2022. “To date, the company has not experienced any substantial disruption to its commercial activity in this area. After a week’s closure at the start of the conflict, the shops have now reopened. However, Bogart remains cautious and attentive to developments in the local situation, and in particular to the safety of its employees,” said the group.
The Bogart Group will publish its fourth-quarter sales figures on Monday February 5, 2024.
