New Delhi – The first wave of India’s festive season sales saw a significant 11% increase in smartphone sales year-over-year, according to TechInsights. This year’s initial sales period, running from September 26 to October 6, spanned 11 days, an extension from the 7-8 days typical in previous years.
Samsung emerged as the market leader, capturing a 20% share of smartphone sales. The company’s success was driven by popular models including the Galaxy M35, Galaxy S23, Galaxy A14, and Galaxy S23 FE. Unit sales for Samsung rose by 17% compared to the same period in 2023.
Abhilash Kumar, an industry analyst at TechInsights, highlighted Samsung’s robust performance. “The impressive sales figures were fueled by attractive deals and price cuts across various product lines, including the Galaxy A, M, and S series,” he noted. Additionally, Samsung’s sponsorship of major sales events on platforms like Flipkart and Amazon provided a further boost to its sales momentum.
