School Holiday: In view of the current weather situation and heavy rainfall, the Tripura government has declared a two-day closure for all schools on August 21 and 22, 2024. All students, teachers, and staff are requested to stay safe and follow the instructions. According to India Meteorological Department, isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh during August 21 to 23; Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand Odisha during August 21– 25; Bihar during August 21– 24; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on August 24; Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during August 21 to 26, 2024.

Furthermore, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha had appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to provide additional NDRF teams to support response efforts. Sharing a post on X(previously Twitter), Tripura CM Manik Saha wrote, “Spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and briefed him on the current situation arising out of severe flood situation. I also requested to dispatch additional NDRF teams to support our response efforts. The Home Minister assured me of all possible support during this crisis. I am grateful to him for providing all possible support to us at this hour.”
