London label Self-Portrait has teased images of its inaugural Residency collection, which will be available in stores and online from 20:00 on 21 November.

It will be sold on Self-Portrait’s own webstore and in its physical stores in London’s Mayfair and Chelsea as well as via a network of third-party partners including Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdales, Selfridges and Club21.

The previously-flagged programme sees Christopher Kane as its first Resident. He’s been designing from the brand’s HQ and has unveiled two looks from his collection through campaign images starring his “longtime supporter” Carine Roitfeld.

Shot at her home in Paris by Larissa Hofmann, the full campaign featuring a wider cast will be released from next week.

The company announced the Residency programme back in September, saying that it “will see creatives from all disciplines invited into the brand’s studio to design using their own distinctive style”.

Kane’s Residency collection “reinterprets key elements from his SS07 debut collection, and includes a striking blend of textures, including crystal chainmail, soft lace ruffles, and satin dresses, with bias cuts and intricate lace panels”.

The launch will include Self-Portrait founder Han Chong and Kane hosting a London event “where guests will be immersed into a live campaign shoot for the collection, watching the product come to life in an unexpected and real life setting, as it begins to deliver into stores and online”.

Kane said that it has been “a joy to work with Han on the brand’s first Residency. The entire process has been an extraordinary experience. I am delighted to have reincarnated my archival collections for this inaugural project, and who better to unveil our new collection than Carine Roitfeld, a big champion since my first collections, and a true fashion icon. I will be forever grateful for her continued support.”
