Sensex Opens In Green At 74K; Nifty Fifty At 22720; Paytm Stock Falls, Reliance, TATA Motors Gain

The BSE Sensex opened in the green territory at 74,953.96, rose by 270.26 points or 0.36 per cent. The NSE Nifty50 also started green at 22,720.25, rose by 77.50 points or 0.34 per cent. The Nifty Bank index which comprises data of 12 banking stocks, is trading in the red at 48,700 yesterday it had touched fresh high of 48,960.75.

Paytm Shares Down

Paytm stock declined by 3% after the resignation of Paytm Payments Bank, CEO & MD, Surinder Chawla. Chawla resigned ‘on account of personal reasons’, according to the company filing with the regulator. The resignation wil be effective from June 26. 

Stock Market At Pre-Open

At pre-open, the 30-share S&P BSE Sensex traded in the green at 74,953.96, up by 270.26 points or 0.36 per cent. The 50-share NSE Nifty50 index traded in the green at 22,720.25, up by 77.50 points or 0.34 per cent.

On 9th April, the BSE Sensex ended at 74,683.70, went down by 58.80 points or 0.08 per cent. The index reached its all-time peak of 75,124.28. The NSE Nifty settled down by 0.10 per cent to end at 22,642.75. The index also touched a new high of 22,768.40 during yesterday’s trade.

On 9th April, The Nifty Bank index which comprises data of 12 banking stocks, hit a fresh high of 48,960.75 and closed in the green at 48,730.55, up 148.85 points or 0.31 per cent.
