Selective perfumery chain Sephora has recently appointed Deborah Yeh as global chief marketing officer. Yeh was formerly the chain’s chief purpose officer, and will assume her new role on November 13. She succeeds Steve Lesnard, who is leaving the LVMH-owned retailer.
Yeh joined Sephora in 2012 as vice-president marketing for the Americas region, and is now tasked with making the Sephora brand increasingly attractive to consumers. Her mission will also be to continue to foster collaboration between the chain’s commercial regions and encourage the sharing of best practices, while remaining in charge of Sephora’s corporate purpose and sustainability strategies. Yeh will continue to report to Guillaume Motte, Sephora’s CEO.
“During her 11 years at Sephora, Deborah Yeh has had a remarkable impact on our company, both during her two-year stint as chief purpose officer and as Sephora’s North American marketing director. During this time, she spearheaded key initiatives for Sephora such as revamping our loyalty program in the USA, and co-developing our Sephoria event. She has also been a strong contributor to accelerating our commitment to sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion in North America and globally,” said Motte.
Sephora operates 3,000 stores worldwide and employs 46,000 people. In 2022, according to industry sources, it generated a revenue of €12 billion, making it the second-largest LVMH brand behind Louis Vuitton, which reported a revenue of €20 billion.
