French cosmetics retailer Sephora has announced the appointment of Deborah Yeh to the role of global chief marketing officer, effective November 3.
A marketing veteran, Yeh joined Sephora 11 years ago, taking on the role of VP of marketing, North America in 2012. From here, the executive was promoted to chief marketing officer for the Americas region in 2015, before becoming the LVMH-owned retailer’s global chief purpose officer in 2021, a role she held for two years.
Prior to Sephora, Yeh was VP of marketing at Gap Inc., and held managerial roles at Target Corp. and Vividence Corporation, respectively.
In her new role, Yeh will continue to report to Guillaume Motte, president and chief executive officer of Sephora, and remains a member of Sephora’s global leadership team.
She succeeds Steve Lesnard, who is leaving Sephora to pursue other opportunities on November 2.
“In this [new] role, Deborah will focus on reinforcing Sephora’s brand desirability and continuing to increase its global community of loyal members,” parent LVMH said in an internal memo, as reported by WWD.
“She will also keep fostering collaborations across regions and encouraging best-practice sharing, while staying in charge of Sephora’s purpose and sustainability strategy.”
The news comes as the beauty retailer reopened its Parisian flagship on the Champs-Elysées on Friday, after several months of renovation work. Celebrating the reopening, Motte told journalists that the cosmetics chain hopes to top the €20 billion revenue mark, without giving a specific time frame.
