The woman found dead in her Presidio Heights apartment from a suspected homicide was identified by the San Francisco Medical Examiner on Tuesday as Kimberly Wong.

Wong, 27, was a product designer at Plaid, an SF-based payment platform that connects people’s financial accounts with apps or other online services, according to her LinkedIn account.

“We are devastated at the news of Kim’s passing,” the company said in a statement issued to SFGATE. “She was smart, talented, positive, and a valued member of our team who made an impact on everyone who worked with her. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to her family and her friends.”

Police found Wong unresponsive in her residence on the 3200 block of Clay Street during a well-being check just after 7 p.m. on Nov. 30, the San Francisco Police Department said in a news release.

Officers and medics provided medical aid but they were unable to revive her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, the police said.

SFPD told SFGATE that it could not provide any details on the nature of the suspected homicide.

“This is an open homicide investigation, we are not offering comment on this in order to protect the integrity of the investigation,” Sgt. Kathryn Winters, a spokesperson for the department, wrote in an email.

Wong was a user experience, or UX, designer according to a website that appears to feature her personal bio. Before working for Plaid, she was a UX designer at Splunk, an SF-based data-analysis software company. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in human centered design and engineering.

“When I’m not pushing pixels, I love creating illustrations, doing crosswords, cooking, doing yoga, and getting outdoors for a morning cycling excursion or a hike,” her website said.
