Simone Biles teases ‘goals to achieve’ before starting a family with NFL star husband Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles is still plotting out her future after adding four Olympic medals in Paris to her unmatched legacy.

But she definitely sees children on the horizon at some point.

The gymnastics superstar spoke with Hoda Kotb on NBC’s TODAY on Tuesday about her plans to start a family with her husband Jonathan Owens as she mulls over what’s next in her life.

“Yes, me and Jonathan always talk about kids, and he would have had them yesterday if he could have,” Biles said.

“Obviously, we both have goals that we want to achieve before we start a family.”

Kotb asked Biles if she sees herself as a mum one day.

“Yes, most definitely,” Biles said.

Owens and Biles have been married for just over a year after tying the knot in April 2023; Biles said that Owens still gets her flowers “weekly”.

There’s also the possibility the couple will have more magical moments together in California in four years.

The most decorated gymnast of all time didn’t rule out a run at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, when she would be 31 years old.

“You never say never,” Biles told Kotb.

“The next Olympics is on home turf. So you just never know. I’m just going to relax and see where life takes me.”

Regardless of what the future brings, Biles and Owens made lasting memories in Paris as she won gold medals in the team, all-around and vault competitions, and a silver in the floor exercise.

Owens, a star for the Chicago Bears, received an excused absence from training camp to travel to Paris and see his wife dazzle the world in person.

He also took part in a popular Olympic tradition.

“He was so excited,” Biles said.

“He was more excited to pin trade. He was loving the pin trading. I didn’t think he would, but I did warn him, like pin trading was really huge, and so he absolutely loved that.”

Owens could also be seen on the broadcast meticulously marking down scores in the stands so that he knew where Biles stood as the competitions progressed.

“Obviously, he loved going to see me compete,” she said.

“He was still keeping score. It meant the world to him, because he’s seen the amount of hours that I put in, so to actually see in person, he was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing.’ And he was just so excited to be there.”
