Soeur launches into menswear with Frère debut

Parisian label Soeur has entered the menswear market for the first time with a new label called — understandably — Frère.

Product has just dropped with the company saying it’s a new chapter for it, despite it having always borrowed elements from menswear to craft its womenswear pieces.

We’re told the new label is both “a collection and an idea. Getting dressed becomes a cultural statement, reflecting the films, music, and books that shape us. Each piece tells a story: a softened shirt collar worn in over time, a white ribbed tank top casually fallen at the foot of the bed, wool gabardine trousers breaking generously over well-loved canvas tennis shoes. Frère is polished and classic embodying effortless elegance with an attitude of nonchalance and ease”.

There’s also a gilet jacket, tailored shirts, a tweed coat, cosy knitwear and accessories such as beanies and scarves.

Founded in 2007 by sisters Domitille and Angélique Brion, Soeur “was created to embody the essence of French taste, ease, and authenticity”.

As mentioned, it’s always drawn heavily on menswear influences and that appears to have gone down well with the firm now operating 50 standalone boutiques, as well as being distributed through 520 wholesale locations.

The new menswear is available via its webstore, as well as at selected retail partners, and Soeur stores.
