Stevie Nicks was rushed to hospital by castle butler in the middle of night before cancelling Glasgow show

Stevie Nicks has opened up about the health issue that forced her to postpone her Glasgow gig last minute.

The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman was set to play at the OVO Hydro on Saturday, July 6, but cancelled just hours before she was due on stage.

The OVO Hydro announced the cancellation on social media, stating that the singer was forced to pull out of the show due to a leg injury that required surgery.

The 76-year-old finally took to the stage in Glasgow on Wednesday, marking her first solo show in Scotland and final show of her two-year tour.

During her set performed to thousands of delighted fans, she acknowledge the last minute cancellation and joked it was like she “returned to the scene of the crime”.

She shared the dramatic story that led to the decision to postpone the show which involved the singer being rushed to hospital in the middle of the night.

Nicks said that she was “really so excited to be in Glasgow” when she arrived ahead of the cancelled show and even arrived a few days before to enjoy her time in Scotland.

The singer said that she had been staying at a Scottish castle for a few days before the show when she became unwell.

She opened up about the health condition that had impacted the tour, and told the audience: “I don’t know what happened, I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy.”

The singer explained she told her assistant she needed to go to the hospital around 2am and was able to get there with the help of castle’s butler.

“So our butler, this wonderful man named Simeon, throws us in his BMW Sedan, which was so great, and off we sped through the night to a hospital.

She continued: “I was there for two days and they let me go back to the castle and we had to cancel.”

The Edge of Seventeen singer said she has been fighting the health issue for the whole tour but said she would be “damned” if she wasn’t coming back to Glasgow.
