New Delhi: The Supreme Court will resume hearing the arguments on July 22 on a batch of pleas seeking cancellation, re-test, and a court-monitored probe into the allegations of malpractice in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, held on May 5 this year.  A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra heard the case on July 18 and directed the NTA to announce the results of the NEET UG by July 20.

National Testing Agency announces centre and city-wise results of NEET-UG

The National Testing Agency(NTA) on Saturday declared the state-wise and centre-wise data of the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024. Candidates can download the NTA NEET UG 2024 Result at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/.

“Pursuant to the order dated:18 July 2024 of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in W.P (Civil) No. 335 of 2024, the NTA has published the result of the NEET (UG)-2024. The result has been published State/City/Centre wise marks obtained by Candidates without disclosing the identity of the Candidates, NTA in a press release said.

The apex court passed the direction to the NTA to publish the results, after the petitioners-students urged it to direct the testing agency to publish the result of all students to bring in some transparency. As per ANI report, the apex court in its order stated, “The petitioners have submitted that it would be appropriate if the results of the NEET-UG 24 exam is published on the website so as to bring about some transparency on the centre-wise marks obtained by candidates. We direct the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students in the NEET-UG 2024 exam while at the same time ensuring that the identity of the students is masked. The results should be declared in relation to each centre and city separately.”

NEET UG 2024: Over 4k Out of Over 27K NEET-UG candidates from Sikar Scored above 600 marks

Over 75 NEET-UG candidates from each centre in Rajasthan’s Sikar have scored above 600 marks with the number going upto 150 at few centres. As per an analysis of the centre-wise result for the medical entrance, the average of candidates scoring above 600 in Sikar is much higher than the national average, PTI reported. For instance at a centre in Aravali Public School, over 90 out of 942 candidates scored above 600 and seven above 700. Similarly, in Mody Institute of Technology centre, over 110 candidates scored above 600.

The number was above 75 at Vishwa Bharti PG College centre and it was same for Tagore PG college. The number of above 600 scorers at Aryan PG College centre is 90, 85 at Sunrise International School, 94 at BPS Convent School, 132 at Gurukul International school and 115 at Shri Mangal Chand Diwaniya Vidya Centre. Over 27,000 candidates appeared at exam centres in Sikar out of which over 4200 have scored above 600.

In all, there are 30,204 students who scored 650 and above – 1.3 percent of the 23.22 lakh candidates nationwide. These candidates would have ranks in the top 30,000 and a chance at seats in government medical colleges. Of this set, examinees from Sikar alone will have a chance to claim 2,037 seats. At two other centres in Sikar, 150 candidates and 83 candidates have scored more than 600.

Originally, the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test(UG) 2024 was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024, from 02:00 to 05:20 P.M. (IST) at 4750 Centres in 571 cities (including 14 cities abroad) for more than 24 lakhs candidates. However, a retest for 1563 candidates was held on June 23. Out of 1563 candidates, 813 have appeared for the entrance examination. The NEET UG Result was announced on June 4, while the revised NEET result was declared on June 30.

NEET-UG examination, conducted by NTA, is the pathway for admissions into MBBS, BDS and AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.
