Like Sydney Sweeney, I recently chopped off my hair into a bob, and with that drastic change, I released the unique anxiety that comes with a hair tie deciding to slowly creep down the length of a sleek blowout and undo any updo I was hoping to keep in place. Unlike Sweeney, I don’t have the luxury of adding extensions on a whim, like the actor has been doing quite a lot lately, perhaps because she missed styles like ponytails and buns. Her latest bun, however, is making me both anxious and envious because it reminds me—in the prettiest way—of all the times my intended style almost slipped away.
Over the weekend, Sweeney attended the premiere of Eden at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival wearing a vintage-inspired, off-white, floral-embellished dress with a cropped, matching cape. From the front, it was clear that her Covet & Mane extensions were pulled into a low style, but it wasn’t immediately apparent just how low. Spoiler alert: very.
From the back, we can see that the pearl-covered hair tie in Sweeney’s hair is a paid stunt actor. Stylist Glen Oropeza looped her hair into the loosest version of a bun, securing it near the very bottom. The only thing hanging lower than the bun itself is the lovely ribbon attached to the hair tie, adding to the romantic vibes of the look.
