Taco Bell and DoorDash offer exclusive deal to celebrate Taco Tuesday

It’s time to celebrate. Taco Bell is teaming up with DoorDash to offer an exclusive deal in honor of the chain winning a legal battle for the “Taco Tuesday” trademark.

On Sept. 12, the Mexican fast food chain and the food delivery company are ponying up $5 million combined to give users $5 off any Mexican food order that amounts to over $15 at participating restaurants. More than 20,000 restaurants from 49 states across the country are taking part in this deal, according to USA Today. New Jersey is the only state not participating, as Taco Bell does not own the “Taco Tuesday” trademark in the state.

To access the $5 off deal, users just need to add the code TACOTAB in the “add a promotion” tab before checkout, according to a news release.

In San Francisco, a haven for delicious Mexican food, more than 100 restaurants are participating, including Papalote, La Corneta, La Torta Gorda, El Metate, El Buen Sabor and Nopalito. In Oakland, there are over 80 restaurants that will honor this deal, while in Marin, there are around 20, including Señor Sisig. Along the Peninsula, nearly 100 eateries are in on the deal, and the South Bay has over 120 participants.

In May, it was reported that the legal battle between Taco Bell and Taco John’s could take years to resolve. However, in July, Taco John’s abandoned its fight, citing expensive legal fees to try to match the goliath Taco Bell.
