Taco Bell gets date changed for National Taco Day – The Mercury News

Not content with “liberating” Taco Tuesday, Taco Bell has announced that it got the date of National Taco Day shifted on the National Day Calendar so that it’s always on the first Tuesday in October.

The holiday was previously on Oct. 4, which falls on a Friday this year. Now it will be on Oct. 1.

Taco Bell holds rewards drops for its members on Tuesday, but in its news release announcing the date change it didn’t announce any deals for Oct. 1.

Last year, Taco Bell went on a crusade to get a trademark on Taco Tuesday canceled in all 50 states, declaring victory in October.
