Tanya Taylor Taps Adrianne Kirszner as CEO

Adrianne Kirszner has been named chief executive officer of Tanya Taylor, the New York-based womenswear brand.

This is the first time the independently owned brand has hired a CEO. She succeeds Tanya Taylor, the founder and creative director, who will remain executive board chairwoman and creative director, focusing on creative direction and design.

Most recently, Kirszner was at Kate Spade, where she was president of North America overseeing retail stores, e-commerce and wholesale channels. Prior to that, she held planning leadership roles at Coach, Ann Taylor and Victoria’s Secret Beauty.

“The brand turned 10 last year and it felt like we reached such a pivotal moment,” said Taylor. “Now that we are entering the next chapter, it was a priority for us to appoint an executive whose background prioritizes discipline and process, especially in an entrepreneurial creative environment. Adrianne has a proven track record to driving inventory management, profitability and team development and I look forward to working alongside her,” she said.

Kirszner said, “I’m so excited to join this special brand and amazing team, especially at this time where there is so much opportunity and a clear runway for continued success. There is such a great foundation in place and I look forward to helping the brand expand its retail footprint and accelerate its overall growth.”

Kirszner joins an executive team alongside Taylor and president Crystal Slattery, who joined the company in 2019 from Jaya Apparel Group, where she was president of the contemporary division and oversaw Cinq à Sept and Likely. Slattery brought wholesale sales in-house, established a merchandising process and launched retail.

Taylor opened its first 1,400-square-foot store in September 2023 at 980 Madison Avenue, near such other brands as Veronica Beard, Gabriela Hearst and Vince.

“The business is in a very good place right now; we are comping very healthy sell-throughs across all channels,” said Slattery. “Our department store channel is profitable, our specialty store base is growing organically and our store on Madison Avenue is successful by all measures. We are very clear on the vision for the future. Our team is strong and mobilized for growth. We are thrilled to have Adrianne join us and guide us through the next phase, allowing Tanya to focus on product and brand,” said Slattery.
