New Delhi: After winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat spoke about his admiration for the famous TV comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Days later, the 21-year-old grappler his dream fulfilled when he met Dilip Joshi in person, who plays the character of Jethalal in the sitcom TMKOC. Aman also got a Jalebi Fafda as a gift from Joshi himself.
It was Sehrawat who shared the pictures on his Instagram. “Today I felt great meeting Jethalal (Dilip Joshi). Watching him in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Makes me happy. Thank you so much for paying a visit to me),” he said. Joshi also shared the pictures of both on his Instagram stories and stated he was ‘honoured’ to meet the champion.

Earlier, Sehrawat spoke about his love for TMKOC when he was asked about how he spends his past-time apart from wrestling. “When I am not doing wrestling, I love to watch ‘Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma,” he had said to Sports Tak.
Sehrawat became the youngest ever individual Olympic medallist from India at 21 years and 24 days. He bettered PV Sindhu’s record, who was 21 years, 1 month and 14 days old when she won silver at the Rio Olympics 2016. Sehrawat rose to ae when he became the first Indian wrestler to secure a gold medal in the U23 Wrestling Championships. His success is attributed to his inspiration from two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar.
Despite facing early parental loss, Sehrawat was cared for by his grandfather, Mangeram Sehrawat. He has been training at the iconic Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi known for producing multiple Olympic medallists. One of the longest running sitcoms in India, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah started in 2008 and has been loved by the Indian audience whole-heartedly.
Joshi’s character Jethalal is one of the most important characters in the show. He is playing Champakalal Gada’s son, Daya’s husband and Tipendra’s father.
