Stock indices settled sharply lower on Friday, ending the week in the red. At closing, Sensex and Nifty were 1.1-1.2 per cent lower at 80,981.95 points and 24,717.70 points, respectively.

According to analysts, Indian stock markets experienced a sharp fall, tracking a sell-off in the US markets. Weak US manufacturing activity raised concerns that the economy might be slowing faster than anticipated.

Stocks to be in focus today, according to Zee Business Experts 

  1. Quarter Results: Deepak Nitrite, Marico, Tata Chemicals, Monte Carlo Fashions, Bharti Hexacom, Century Plyboards (India), EIH Associated Hotels, Som Distilleries & Breweries, Paras Defense and Space Technologies and many others will declare their Q1FY25 results on Monday. 
  2. JSW Steel Stock: The company has submitted a notice to surrender the lease of the iron ore block in Odisha due to un-economic operation.
  3. Infosys Stock: DGGI withdraws demand of Rs 3,898 crore. The company received a notice from DGGI closing the pre-show cause notice proceedings for the financial year 2017-2018. 
  4. Ambuja Cements Stock: The company will invest Rs 1,600 crore to set up six MTPA capacity cement grinding units in Bihar.
  5. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Stock: The company’s net profit rose by 25.8 per cent year-on-year (YoY), reaching Rs 249 crore against Rs 198 crore. 
  6. Affle Stock: Technology firm Affle (India) reported 30.8 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 86.59 crore for June quarter FY25.
  7. SBI Stock: State Bank of India – the country’s largest lender by assets – on Saturday reported a net profit of Rs 17,035.2 crore for the April-June period, marking a 0.9 per cent increase over the corresponding quarter a year ago. 
  8. Ambuja Cements Stock: Adani Group-owned Ambuja Cements to invest Rs 1,600 crore in its first project in Bihar.
  9. Mahindra & Mahindra, Tube Investments of India Stock: Mahindra & Mahindra’s premium bike arm, signed a joint venture agreement with Tube Investments of India Ltd (TIIL) to use BSA marks in India.
  10. SJVN Stock: Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the investment of Rs 5,792.36.
  11. Hero MotoCorp: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced a new partnership with Hero MotoCorp, for a period of five years.
