Tata has rejected all the reports which were claiming that BSNL 4G and 5G services rollout will be delayed.
BSNL is set to roll out its 4G and 5G services with the assistance of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). While some reports have suggested a potential delay in BSNL’s 4G service launch, Tata has responded, stating that there will be no such delays. TCS has reassured that BSNL’s 4G services will be rolled out on schedule, claimed Navbharat Times report.
Tata has given a firm response to Jio’s claims. According to an ET report, Jio had earlier suggested that, sooner or later, BSNL users would return to Jio’s network, as BSNL does not currently have 4G or 5G services available. Jio officials earlier stated that customers who switched to BSNL after rate hikes, will return back to them, as they have no other viable options.
Tata Answer On Jio’s claims
However, Tata dismissed Jio’s claims, stating that BSNL’s 4G and 5G rollouts are proceeding as planned, and there is no delay. TCS’s statement has helped counter the negative perception being built against BSNL. If a false narrative against BSNL gains traction, the company could lose customers to private telecom operators.
BSNL’s 4G and 5G services are being rolled out with the support of TCS. TCS has assured that it has a comprehensive plan in place to launch BSNL’s services on time. The company is working with both Indian and foreign telecom companies to ensure a smooth and indigenous 4G and 5G rollout. The Indian government has announced that BSNL’s 4G and 5G networks will be fully indigenous, and TCS is working in collaboration with Tejas Networks to make this a reality.
When will BSNL’s 4G services Be Launched?
The government has set a deadline of March 2025 for the nationwide rollout of BSNL’s 4G services. According to reports, around 100,000 4G towers are expected to be installed by that time. This will position BSNL to offer strong competition to private players like Jio and Airtel.
BSNL also plans to launch its 5G services within 5 to 6 months after the 4G rollout. Importantly, BSNL will not need to install separate towers for 5G; the 5G services will be provided through BSNL’s existing 4G infrastructure. The central government has allocated a significant budget to accelerate BSNL’s 4G and 5G service rollout.
