Tata Motors launches upgraded Safari and Harrier SUVs with advanced safety features

In a major development, Tata Motors, one of India’s leading automakers, has unveiled its highly anticipated 2023 Harrier and Safari facelift SUVs, setting a new benchmark in safety and innovation. These upgraded models come with an impressive array of features and a fresh design approach, offering a promising driving experience for Indian consumers.

The new Tata Harrier and Safari boast a striking visual transformation, with a redesigned parametric grille, linked LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and connected LED taillights, all contributing to their updated design language. The addition of redesigned alloy wheels adds to the overall appeal while preserving the vehicles’ original form and silhouette.

Inside the cabin, both SUVs have undergone substantial revisions. The interior now features updated upholstery, a completely redesigned dashboard with a wood trim finish, and an abundance of glossy black accents, enhancing the premium feel of these vehicles. In the Safari SUV, second-row seats have been improved with comfortable headrests, ensuring a more comfortable and luxurious ride.

The new Harrier and Safari come equipped with a host of advanced features that put them on par with their international counterparts. Notable highlights include a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, touch-based HVAC controls on the dashboard, a new 12.30-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an updated 10.25-inch digital driver display capable of displaying navigation. Additionally, the front two rows of seats in the Safari will have ventilation features, while the driver’s seat in both SUVs can be electronically adjusted and includes memory functions. Music enthusiasts will be delighted with the inclusion of a 10-speaker JBL sound system featuring Harmon AudioworX technology.

When it comes to safety, Tata Motors has left no stone unturned. The Harrier and Safari SUVs are expected to achieve a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP or similar crash tests. These vehicles come with a comprehensive airbag system, offering up to seven airbags, including one for the driver’s knees. What sets them apart is the level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology, providing a total of 17 driving assistance functions. Additionally, safety features include ABS with EBD, ESP, a tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, driver attention alert, hill descent control, emergency call, and breakdown alert, ensuring the safety of both drivers and passengers.

Under the hood, the new Harrier and Safari will continue to be powered by Tata Motors’ reliable 2.0-litre diesel engine, delivering a robust 167.6 bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission and offers three distinct drive modes – Eco, City, and Sport. Tata will also provide three traction modes: Normal, Rough, and Wet, allowing drivers to adapt to various road conditions.As for the pricing, Tata Motors has introduced these upgraded SUVs at a competitive introductory price. The Safari is available at an introductory price of Rs 16.19 lakh, while the Harrier can be yours for an introductory price of Rs 15.49 lakh. This pricing strategy aims to make these feature-packed vehicles more accessible to Indian consumers.Commenting on the launch, Tata Motors MD for Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, Shailesh Chandra, stated, “The new Safari and Harrier herald a new era in safety, excellence, and experience.
