Tata Nexon EV facelift breaks cover: New design, more tech, higher range

After unveiling the Nexon facelift, Tata Motors has now also taken the wraps off the Nexon EV facelift, carrying over the same changes as the former. Despite being just a mid-life makeover, the new Nexon EV facelift gets a big design overhaul both on the outside, as well as inside, adds class-leading new technologies while also improves on range.
Stylized as Nexon.ev, the Mahindra XUV400 rivaling electric SUV is now available in two guises – Long Range and Mid Range. The latter gets a 30 kWh battery pack providing a 325 km range, while the Long Range version is equipped with a 40.5 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 465 km i.e. 13 km more than before. The new Nexon EV Mid Range’s electric motor produces 127 hp power and 215 Nm torque, while the Long Range version has a peak power output of 143 hp and the same 215 Nm peak torque rating.
The 7.2kW AC home wallbox charger can juice up the battery from 10% – 100% in 4.3 hours for Medium Range and 6 hours for Long Range. A DC fast charger would achieve the same feat in 56 mins for both, Medium & Long Range. With a standard 15A charger, the Mid Range Nexon EV can be charged from 10& to 100% in 10.5 hours, while the Long Range version would take 15 hours for the same.
