Tata Safari facelift deliveries begin in India: Price, variants, features and specifications

Homegrown Automaker Tata Motors recently launched the new and updated Tata Safari to the Indian market. The price for the SUV starts from Rs 16.29 lakh and goes up to 27.34 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the SUV are already underway and interested individuals can book it by visiting their nearest dealership or online. The booking amount is set at Rs 25,000.

The bookings for the new Safari started from October 6 and customers who booked the Safari facelift have started getting the delivery of their car across the country.The new Tata Safari is available in 10 trims, namely, Smart (O), Pure (O), Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure+ Dark, Accomplished, Accomplished Dark, Accomplished+ Dark, Adventure+ A, and Accomplished+.

The new Safari gets a ‘parametric’ grille is a single-piece unit compared to the Harrier’s split setup. The Safari also gets a split headlamp setup with LED projector headlamps and LED projector fog lamps housed in a black casing. At the rear, the SUV looks very similar to the previous version. It gets re-designed taillamps with connected DRLs. Similar to Harrier, the reverse and rear fog lamps have been placed below.

In terms of dimensions the new Safari measures 4,668 mm in length, 1,922 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and the wheelbase remains the same at 2,741 mm. It also gets SAFARI lettering on the tailgate and the connected DRLs on the front and rear get a glowing pattern when locked and unlocked.

Moving inside, the new Safari features a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a new UI and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, rotary knob for the drive selector with a digital display, dual-zone climate control, ventilated first and second-row seats, a 10-speaker JBL-tuned sound system, rear window shades, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof and much more. The Safari also gets a new layout for HVAC controls, it gets a touch-based climate control panel similar to the Tata Nexon. The central console houses a new dial for the drive mode selection and electric parking brake switch.

The new Tata Safari will continue to be powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre multi-jet turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The new Tata Safari also scored a 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection. The SUV has secured 33.05 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection and 45 points out of 49 in the child occupant protection tests.
