Taylor Swift Eras Tour: Full breakdown of Murrayfield shows including fan stories and surprise songs

Thousands of fans have travelled far and wide to see Taylor Swift dazzle as she plays her record-breaking shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield.

The Anti-Hero singer played her second sold-out show in the capital on Saturday.

Swifties were enchanted by the singer’s set which latest over three hours and followed a set from American rock band Paramore.

The shows mark the first time Miss Americana has played in Scotland in almost a decade and – much to the delight of fans – the signer acknowledged that not returning sooner was “a mistake”.

Edinburgh mum Pamela had tried to get her 17-year-old daughter Hannah tickets for over a year but had been unsuccessful – until just two days before the show.

She told STV: “I tried competitions, Ticketmaster and was never successful, but on Wednesday I managed to get them through AXS.”

Hannah, who has just had her prom, thought they were going to the grounds around the stadium to listen together.

“I was quite sad when the preparation started happening as it was like ‘oh I’m really not going’. Then mum said ‘do you want to go listen outside?’, and I was like not really, but she told me we should go because we’ve got tickets,” the teen said.

It wasn’t just the Scots who were there to see Taylor. Many travelled from overseas, like Liz Burg who came from New York and attended a show by herself.

The 30-year-old had previously attended shows in Madrid, Lyon and her hometown, as well as winning tickets to see the Eras Tour in London this summer.

“It’s a different experience every time with the surprise songs, and now with the new set this is the first time I’m seeing it, so it’s really exciting,” she said.

Jaclyn Johnson, 31, had always wanted to come to Scotland so when the shows were announced she and her mum, Janet, 65, jumped at the opportunity.

“We’re here for a week, so we’re going to do lots of exploring, we’re going to The Highlands, so hoping to see some of the Harry Potter sites too,” Ms Johnson said.

Sydney, 29, and Nate, 36, travelled all the way from Washington D.C to attend their first Eras Tour after being priced out of the US shows.

“It was cheaper for us to fly to somewhere in Europe, stay there and get tickets than it was to get the cheapest seats at a US show”, Nate said.

“We’re here for four days so we’re hoping to see lots of sights around the city. We’re so excited to see the show tonight,” Sydney said.

The shows have proven to be a great boost for Edinburgh with a steward telling STV that it’s been “fantastic”.

“The fans have been brilliant, I’ve been doing this 17 years and this is one of the best I’ve seen, it’s just an amazing atmosphere,” they said.

As if the night wasn’t special enough for Swifties who battled for tickets, the singer’s three hour set included a section of two surprise songs.
