Delaware-based company Lumionix has announced a new ‘smart’ camera trigger called the KOMET that comes loaded with “state of the art” special features to take its users photography skills to the next level.
According to the company, the LUMIONIX KOMET’s wide range of special features includes a built-in ambient light and sound sensor, wireless flash control, timelapse, HDR, A.I. suggestion, geo-tagging, a file manager, and more. These features are designed to help its users achieve challenging shots easily regardless of their skill levels and experience.
“We are excited to introduce the Lumionix KOMET camera trigger to photographers worldwide,” said Nazmus, Founder of Lumionix. “Our aim was to provide photographers with a simple, all-in-one solution that elevates their creativity and simplifies their workflow. With its extensive range of features and advanced technology, we believe it will revolutionize the way photographers capture and create stunning images.”
The KOMET is designed as an integrated smart device for both DSLR and mirrorless systems that lets users take full control of their lighting setup (and eliminate excess cables) by leveraging add-on flash receivers that enable seamless synchronization between the camera and flash heads to enable a perfectly lit scene with precision.
The 2.4 GHz smart-trigger works in tandem with a mobile app to provide fast access to each of the trigger’s shooting modes. These include a built-in timelapse functionality (with Holy Grail settings for capturing day to night transitions easily) as well as a “distance lapse” mode, Geo-tagging for categorization, sorting, and organizing images based on location, HDR modes, an AI Suggestion feature that allows users to browse a collection of existing scenes in the app to match their conditions for easy configurations.
In addition to the shooting mode features, the KOMET also includes a file-manager that gives users the ability to safely backup and organize their files when on the go using the a built-in SD memory card reader and connecting to a portable hard drive using the USB-C connections on the device.
The trigger even includes a light/audio sensor for capturing precision high-speed images such as lightning strikes, ensuring users can capture the exact moment they need as well as an ND calculator in the app to update the camera exposure automatically.
The LUMIONIX KOMET still has 49 days left in its Kickstarter campaign and has already raised over $120,000 from its $15,000 goal. With the rapid achievement, the company is still honoring early-bird pricing and bundles for backers with prices ranging from $199 for a KOMET solo (saving $171 off the MSRP of $370 for the Trigger), $239 for a KOMET Basic kit, $279 for the KOMET Essential kit, and $359 for the KOMET Ultimate kit which includes one trigger, four receivers, and a variety of accessories. Delivery of the LUMIONIX KOMET are expected to start shipping in June of 2024.
