The Only Thing Better Than Owning A Snow Plow Is Owning A Remote-Controlled Snow Plow

Snow may be pretty to look at when it’s freshly fallen, but when you actually need to do anything in it, it quickly becomes a giant hassle. Even just shoveling a short driveway can be a chore, but if you have an especially long driveway or live at the end of a road that doesn’t get plowed, you’re going to want some form of snow plow. That solves the labor problem but still requires you to drive the plow yourself. Unless it’s remote-controlled, that is.

YouTube channel Ambition Strikes recently did exactly that, turning their electric side-by-side into a remote-controlled snow plow. Was it necessary? Not at all. Was it simple or straightforward? Not really. Do we respect the hell out of anyone who has the skill and, well, ambition to make it a reality anyway? Oh, absolutely. Even if you don’t think you’d ever have any use for a remote-controlled snow plow, at the very least, you have to admit that it’s still super cool, especially considering how much better it appears to perform than you’d expect.

As you can imagine, getting from the idea stage to actually having a usable remote-controlled plow required some serious ingenuity, as well as a good bit of 3D printing, welding and electrical work. After all, they don’t exactly sell remote control kits for side-by-sides. And yet, they made it happen. Now they just need to figure out some sort of video or virtuality reality setup that allows them to control the plow from the warmth of their own home. Assuming that’s legal, at least. Good luck explaining to the cops that you hit someone else’s truck with a remote-controlled snow plow.
