Launched in 1963, the Salon International de la Lingerie is still the world’s biggest trade show for the lingerie industry. Some 250 brands are expected to take part in this year’s edition, which will be held in Hall 3, Porte de Versailles in Paris. The brands will showcase lingerie, corsetry, activewear, loungewear, hosiery, men’s underwear, swimwear and wellness products. Interfilière Paris will be hosting 170 suppliers from these different sectors.
Since being taken over by WSN in the summer of 2022, the trade shows have undergone a complete overhaul. This year the Costa-Molinos studio has been entrusted with the scenography of the new January 2024 edition. The aim is to offer a new visitor experience, combining chromatic prisms and vibrant geometries to create a dialogue between the different areas and universes. Punctuated by colour, the exhibition’s scenography aims to inject a new energy.
Alongside the rich and comprehensive range of products on offer in the two spaces, there will also be a selection of samples and finished products around three major themes.
In “Natural Elegance”, natural materials are highlighted in lingerie and loungewear. The focus will also be on eco-responsibility and certifications. In “Weaving Heritage”, weaving, Lyon’s textile heritage, will be showcased around jacquard and interwoven yarns to tell the story of textile art. Finally, “The art of stretch” will plunge visitors into the world of elasticity and technical textiles that transform clothing and undergarments into a dynamic second skin, while Jos Berry from Concepts Paris will be presenting his expert vision of future trends.
The eagerly-awaited fashion shows will adopt a bold, ultra-creative new format. Three different shows (11.30am, 2pm and 4.30pm) will be devoted to three themes: refinement and embellishments, colours and the season’s “it products” and key pieces.
On the Saturday 20 January an anniversary show will take place to mark the 60th anniversary of the Salon international de la lingerie.
“Lingerie is a snapshot of its time, embracing every social transformation and feminine revolution,” explains Aleksandra Kawecki, in charge of press relations for the event. The fashion show retraces the most exciting developments and innovations around iconic pieces”.
The event also includes conferences to decipher trends in products, materials, society and the market. For the occasion, there will be discussions on men’s underwear, an up-and-coming market, but also relocation, innovation and partnerships. There will also be other surprises to celebrate the 60th anniversary.
