The Wiggles have been left “deeply disappointed” their music has been used to drive homeless people away from a beachside shelter and asked a WA council to stop doing so.
It emerged on Wednesday that the band’s track Hot Potato had been playing around the clock at the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell in Bunbury, about 170km south of Perth, to deter people from congregating in that spot.

Mayor Jasen Miguel argued the measure “happens at all places across Australia and across the world” to discourage anti-social behaviour.
But a spokesperson for the Wiggles said the city’s approach was out of step.
“The Wiggles’ music is created to bring joy and happiness to children and families around the world, and we are deeply disappointed to hear that it is being used in any other way,” the band representative said.
The Wiggles have also requested the council stop using their song in such a manner, it is understood.
Different songs have been used near the music shell for six months.
One local store manager told 7NEWS the ongoing music was “driving me crazy”.
Back in 2016, the year of the Olympics in Brazil, the council blasted Peter Allen’s I Go to Rio.
There is an estimated 122,000 homeless people in Australia and 9700 in WA.
