“Suddenly and for a brief moment, he turned towards me, looked at me intensely and I understood the full force of his dominance over his troops. It was an unforgettable moment for me, exactly what I was looking to bring out through a photograph,” Quillard explains.
Alongside the title of “Black and White Photographer of the Year,” Quillard also received a €1,000 cash prize.
In addition to the “Absolute Winner” prize, the Black and White Photo Awards also named Ágnes Dudás the winner of the Special Prize for Creativity award for his photo, “Painted Portrait.”
