The conglomerate has a vast range of businesses, making everything from salt to luxury cars. Although Tata Group has 29 listed companies, some of its major brands operate without the Tata name, which people may not be aware of. Zara: It is a global fashion brand which is loved by youths and to elderly. But do you know Zara is a part of the Tata Group? The brand is part of a joint venture with Tata Group. It has as many as 21 stores across the country.
Westside: Another clothing brand Westside is a Tata-owned brand which is managed by Trent Limited, a Tata Group company. Trent Limited was launched after acquisition of Littlewoods International (India) in 1998 by Tata’s Lakme. Westside is the fastest-growing retail chains in India, selling clothing and lifestyle products.
Zudio: It is another fashion brand that offers affordable clothing options. Zudio has made budget-friendly fashion accessible in many cities across India.
Starbucks: Global coffee brand Starbucks entered the Indian market through a joint venture with Tata Consumer Products Ltd. It was launched in 2012 and has become popular as a premium coffee destination.
BigBasket: It is India’s first online grocery platform that delivers products to customers at their doorsteps. Tata acquired a 64 percent stake in BigBasket in 2021 marking a key step in its retail expansion.
