HCL Technologies, led by Shiv Nadar, announced on Thursday that it has been selected by the Tasman District Council in New Zealand to provide digital user experiences for both employees and residents of the Tasman district.
HCL Technologies said in a statement that it would integrate Microsoft 365 into the Tasman District Council’s advanced digital systems, benefiting the 58,000 residents of Tasman and its employees. The new digital systems will support GenAI and automation technologies.
Leonie Rae, CEO, Tasman District Council, said that their goal is simple and there is need to change to meet the demands of the community in present and future. Rae said shifting to a modern digital platform will create effectiveness in their work and it will back staff and improve service delivery.
The CEO further added that the modern digital platform would offer more opportunities for engagement and collaboration with the community. Rae mentioned that they aim to be a leader in digital transformation within local government in the country, and that HCL Technologies will help them achieve this goal.
The Executive Vice President and Country Manager of HCL Technologies for Australia and New Zealand stated that the Tasman District Council had a clear objective to develop a digital foundation that would enable them to be more advanced and meet both their current and future needs.
