Tod’s has teamed up with the noted India designer Rahul Mishra with an unexpected new trilogy of iconic products in the latest chapter of Tod’s Factory by the Italian luxury marque.
Mishra will interpret the brand’s legendarily iconic Tod’s Gommino moccasin, unveiling it at a soirée in the house’s Old Bond Street flagship on the opening day of London Fashion Week on Friday, September 13.
Known for his effervescent use of traditional Indian embroidery, Mishra has woven these skills into gold, beige and black Gomminos to great effect.
The Indian creator has also developed a new series of Tod’s Di bags. The new clutches feature golden threading; glass beading; fabric flowers and glittering parrots. All very raj n roll for this fall. And in his third play, Mishra tackles Tod’s T Timeless accessories – from Maharajah worthy men’s loafers to gilded Rajasthani women’s bags.
Tod’s Factory was dreamed up in 2018 by Tod’s CEO Diego Della Valle as a creative laboratory where established and emerging designers are invited to offer a new point of view on the Tod’s DNA and its iconic heritage.
Previously Tod’s Factory collabs’ have included Alber Elbaz, Alessandro Dell’acqua and Ryo Kashiwazaki, founder of Japanese brand Hender Scheme.
