THAI REPRESENTATION: Prada on Tuesday named Toey Jarinporn Joonkiat, one of Thailand’s most acclaimed actresses, as the brand’s first female brand ambassador in the region.
Joonkiat began her acting career in 2006 and has appearedin major hits such as “Dear Galileo,” “Countdown,” and “To the Moon and Back.” She has since amassed a dedicated following in Thailand and beyond. Last March, the 34-year-old star with around 8 million Instagram followers fronted the digital cover of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore.
Beyond her acting career, Joonkiat is an advocate for education and sustainability. She founded the Environmental Education Center Thailand project, which vows to integrate environmental education to raise awareness among the younger generation.
The brand said this initiative reflects her deep commitment to environmental causes, which aligns “seamlessly with Prada’s identity: innovation in spirit, responsibility in action.”
Thai stars are the latest targets for luxury brands as they exert great influence in Southeast Asia. Prada signed Thai actor Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn as its first brand ambassador in the region last year.
He began his relationship with the brand in June 2022, when Prada ranked as the top brand in media exposure generated during Milan Fashion Week, with $25.9 million across 2,414 placements, according to Launchmetrics. Opas-iamkajorn was the brand’s top influencer that year — he generated $4.1 million in media impact value.
