AFL ladder leaders Sydney have suffered an injury scare with Tom Papley carried off the field before limping down to the rooms on Sunday.
The setback was not what the Swans needed, after Dane Rampe was also substituted out with calf tightness in the midst of a fight with Brisbane at the Gabba.
Papley’s right ankle twisted when he fell in a marking contest with the Lions’ Brandon Starcevich deep on centre wing.

Papley initially attempted to shake it off but he was desperate for assistance, hopping on his leg before two physios helped hurry him off the ground.
“That does look worrying now for Papley, doesn’t it,” Anthony Hudson said in commentary.
“He can’t put any weight on it. He is in serious pain.”
Papley could be heard screaming “f***!” right at that moment.
He did not return to the field and was spotted in a moon boot for the start of the third term.
“No good. He’s out, I think it’s a serious ankle (injury). He’s out for at least this game and we’ll see what happens after that,” Swans coach John Longmire said.
Longmire said Will Hayward was also out with his own ankle injury.
But the 25-year-old remained on the field for the start of the third quarter, having played out the first half following treatment.
As the first player to fall Rampe was replaced by substitute Corey Warner for just his third appearance of the season and sixth in his career.
Despite the injury blows, Sydney bounced back from a horror start to lead 7.4 (46) to 6.3 (39) at half-time.
The Swans kicked just one goal in a first quarter dominated by Brisbane’s Joe Daniher (three goals) and Cam Rayner (one goal, two goal assists).
