PVH’s Tommy Hilfiger has revealed a “landmark partnership” with F1 Academy (the series “designed to help and develop young female drivers”), as well as sponsorship of “leading Spanish talent” Nerea Martí.
Hiliger has collaborated with Formula 1 teams since the 1990s and said “the legacy continues with one of the 15 liveries designed for the 2024 season”.
Martí debuted the Tommy Hilfiger branded car and race suit in Saudi Arabia pre-season testing last week. The F1 Academy staff uniform will also be designed and supplied by the label.
The company said it’s “building on a legacy of innovative partnerships in the Formula 1 world” and accelerating this “using its global platform to empower young female drivers and reshape the landscape of the sport”.
And as well as saying she’s pleased to wear the Hilfiger colours for this season, she added that “by backing F1 Academy, [Tommy Hilfiger] is standing behind female drivers and helping us break boundaries. Beyond the track, I’m looking forward to activations and events that will help me grow both professionally and personally”.
Meanwhile the designer said he’s “a lifelong fan of motorsport and its evolution is exciting. The world of racing is developing at an incredible pace and the F1 Academy is at the forefront of this movement”.
