Search behemoth Google has published its lists of top U.S. searches in 2024. The presidential election, Olympics and extreme weather, not surprisingly, stood at the top of major lists.
The Bay Area was well represented in the surveys thanks to Kamala Harris, who ranked high under overall searches and people as she made her run for the U.S. presidency. Other search topics with strong local ties included athletes (San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk) and movies (Pixar’s “Inside Out 2,” which was No. 1 one on the list).
Top Google searches in the Bay Area included sports: Copa América and the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the New York Yankees in the World Series.
