Topaz Labs’ Cinema-Grade Video AI Pro Platform Upscales, Smooths, and Stabilizes Footage

Topaz Labs, known for its AI-powered photo editing tools, like Photo AI 3 and Gigapixel 7, has launched Video AI Pro, what it calls “the first commercially available AI video enhancement tool for enterprise creative teams.”

Available in three tiers, Video AI Pro builds upon Topaz Labs’ Video AI platform, which uses proprietary artificial intelligence to upscale video up to 16K resolution, denoise footage, and create new frames to create slow-motion footage from normal-speed video. Video AI can also recognize specific faces in videos, help match footage from cameras operating at different frame rates, and stabilize footage based on subject detection.

Video AI Pro takes things even further, allowing video to be upscaled to 24K resolution thanks to the ability to utilize multiple GPUs.

“Video AI Pro builds on Topaz Labs’ pioneering, proprietary Video AI tool, which is trained on millions of frames to upscale, stabilize, and denoise content,” explains Topaz Labs. “The new solution specifically maximizes throughput on multi-GPU systems from graphics processors by AMD, Apple, Intel and Nvidia to achieve speeds at two, three, ten times faster and beyond. Coupling unparalleled enhancing with unrivaled speed, Video AI Pro fills a gap in the growing demand for enterprise-ready AI tools not currently on the market today.”

Importantly, especially for creative professionals, Video AI Pro uses AI models that run entirely offline with local processing, so media is always secure. Further, content editing using Video AI Pro is not used for any AI model training and never leaves an organization’s servers. The platform can be deployed on-location using a local render farm, or run within an AWS Outpost, which Topaz Labs says promises “an optimal blend of security and access.” Further, users can render in parallel, sending different files to each available GPU, or work faster by splitting a single file across multiple GPUs.

Video AI Pro is designed for high-end cinematic productions, so organizations have a license to use its output in movie theaters, premium streaming services, or broadcast television. Customers retain full ownership of all media processed through the AI platform.

“With concerns of AI threatening creatives in the entertainment industry, enhancement teams need tools that both empower them to improve quality in ways previously impossible, and maintain fidelity to the studio’s original artistic vision,” says Topaz Labs CEO Eric Yang.

“Since our first AI model in 2018, Topaz Labs championed the belief that AI should enhance, not replace, creatives’ existing work. With Video AI Pro, large post-production teams can upscale and refine feature-length films more quickly and effectively than ever before,” Yang continues.

While Video AI starts at $299, Video AI Pro comes in at a much higher price tag. Individual entry-level packages start at $1,099. For organizations with five to 10 users, the price jumps to $4,999 and adds administrative and permission controls. Larger teams can work directly with Topaz Labs to develop custom models and workflows, with pricing determined based on the specific requirements.
