Toronto man wanted for attempted murder after hammer attack

A Toronto man is wanted for attempted murder after police say a victim was attacked with a hammer Saturday morning in the city’s west end.

And Toronto Police say they need assistance locating the suspect.

Police say, shortly after 9 a.m., officers responded to a call for unknown trouble in the Queen St. W. and King St. W. area.

Cops allege that the suspect and victim got into an argument and the suspect assaulted the victim with a hammer.

The suspect then fled the scene, police say.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say Warren Dwyer, 44, is wanted for attempt murder.

Investigators released images of the suspect.

The man is described as 5-foot-10, 175 pounds with a thin build, short brown hair, grey eyes and has a tattoo of a chain around his neck. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark pants and white running shoes.
