A truck crash caused major delays near Sydney Domestic Airport, with motorists urged to allow extra travel time.

It is believed two B-doubles collided on Joyce Dr about 4.45am Wednesday, causing a large amount of oil to spill onto the road.

One of the truck drivers, a 45-year-old man, was hospitalised with head injuries.

The other driver was assessed by paramedics at the scene and was cleared.

The road was closed in both directions between Wentworth Ave and O’Riordan St as emergency crews worked to clean up the spill, however, all lanes have reopened and traffic conditions in the area are back to normal.
