‘If He Doesn’t Have Cognitive Function…’: Trump’s Running Mate JD Vance Say Biden Should Drop Presidency Race

JD Vance, the newly selected Republican vice presidential nominee, expressed concerns in a recent post about President Biden’s mental acuity. Taking to X, Vance pointed out that if Democrats doubt Biden’s ability to run for re-election, it raises questions about his suitability to continue as president until next January. “If Joe Biden doesn’t have the cognitive function to run for re-election, then he certainly doesn’t have the cognitive function to remain as Commander-In-Chief,” Vance posted. “How can any Dem pushing him to drop out of the presidential race, argue in good faith that he should stay on as POTUS?”

Call for Biden to step aside

Vance’s statement came as several Democrats have called for Biden to step aside as the party nominee. Joe Biden faces increasing calls to step aside as the Democratic nominee for the upcoming election. The scrutiny intensified following his lackluster performance in a recent televised debate with Trump. During the debate, Biden appeared hoarse and struggled to articulate clear differences from his opponent, raising concerns about his ability to lead effectively.

Calls for Biden to withdraw from the race have grown louder, with Senator Martin Heinrich and several House Democrats joining the chorus. The pressure on Biden escalated further when nearly 20 Democratic lawmakers urged him to drop out of the presidential race.

Notably, key Democratic figures such as Jim Hines and Adam Smith, who hold significant positions in national security committees, have also expressed doubts about Biden’s candidacy. Their concerns add to the chorus of voices calling for a change in leadership within the party.

Biden says looking forward to getting back on campaign trail

Despite the calls from Democrats, Biden said on Friday that he is looking forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week. He slammed former US President Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention and called it a ‘dark vision for the future,’ The Hill reported. In a statement, Biden said, “Donald Trump’s dark vision for the future is not who we are as Americans. Together, as a party and as a country, we can and will defeat him at the ballot box.”

He further said, “I look forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week to continue exposing the threat of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda while making the case for my own record and the vision that I have for America: one where we save our democracy, protect our rights and freedoms, and create opportunity for everyone.”Biden has been isolating at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home after testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday while he was campaigning in Las Vegas.
